Piña Colada

Piña Colada is one of my favorite Cuba drinks. It is generally associated with the Caribbean. I’m not sure it is Cuban, but it is very popular in the island. I find it very refreshing.

  • 6 ounces of white rum
  • 8 ounces of pineapple juice
  • 8 fluid ounces of Coconut cream
  • 3 - 4 cups of ice
  • cherries
  • slices of pineapple, orange or lime
  • paper umbrellas

Preparation:

Grind ice in a blender and then gradually add the pineapple, coconut cream and rum. Make sue the ice is thick enough to hold a cherry on top. You should serve it in a tall glass with a straw. A cherry and a slice of pineapple are used for garnish t. A paper umbrella works well for a Caribbean effect.
